You may want to check the exact airport codes. DTT is a general code used by airlines to represent the Detroit metropolitan area, meaning the whole city not a specific airport.

Locally, people in Detroit might be referring to DTT as Detroit City Airport, which is now called Coleman A. Young International Airport and has an official IATA code of DET:

The big airport you might be thinking of is DTW, or Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, which is outside Detroit but has a lot flights:
