We checked our data, and Springfield, Oregon is in the Pacific time zone.
There may be more than one town named Springfield, so we're looking at the location in Lane County near Eugene and south of Portland on I-5.
New York City is in the Eastern time zone.
The time difference should be 3 hours then, even taking into account Daylight Saving Time.
There are parts of Oregon on the Eastern side that fall in Mountain time, if you're in Malheur County. In that case, the time difference could be only 2 hours.
There are four time zones within the continental United States (Pacific, Mountain, Central, and Eastern).
So the time difference is 1 hour between Pacific and Mountain (assuming no daylight savings). It's 2 hours between Pacific and Central. And it's 3 hours between Pacific and Eastern.
